Kimono Saffron Yellow
This kimono is just proof of how our handwoven textiles made in two different continents are made to match in richness and beauty.
Saffron yellow takes center stage in handwoven organic cotton made by the women’s weaving collective in Oaxaca, Mexico. It’s completed by woven flower motifs in black for a bold contrast and raw silk lining in mineral grey.
The different shades and motifs on the sleeves bring together this unique piece. The magic of the handwoven Uzbek ikat does wonders with its shimmering hues. Just like the Mexican cotton, these textiles are made in the purest traditional weaving techniques used in Central Asia for centuries.
Our kimono jackets are slightly padded which make them perfect for the first chilly autumn days, the silk lining giving them an extra comfy feel. The vest is approximately 76cm long by 60cm wide and fits comfortably sizes XS - L.
Our manifesto at Maison Mitla is to provide high quality textiles made to last a lifetime, all crafted with love by talented women artisans. We want to create unique pieces with a more conscious and calm approach to fashion, taking our time to source the right natural materials and working in close collaboration with our partner families. Producing less but better in order to bring you sustainable luxury.
Please note that all our garments are entirely handmade and the textiles are handweaved using traditional techniques. No machine, except a classic sewing machine, is involved in the process. This is why some irregularities may sometimes be present such as tiny apparent threads or a slight 1cm difference in length & width. Do not hesitate to contact us if you need more information on any of our collections, we’ll be more than happy to help you choose you perfect piece.
