Our Manifesto
MAISON MITLA values
My goal is to showcase textile heritage through handcrafted clothes made in co-creation with artisan collectives.
To showcase their skill and incredible creativity and to spread the notion of "slow fashion" as not only being a sustainable and ethical trend, but also the future of fashion itself.
Empowering Women
I believe that social development and wellbeing is in the hands of women. Women have always been pillars of society and I am convinced that what a woman gains through her work trickles down to their children and their community directly.
Empowering women through their craft and a living wage and helping them gain freedom through financial independence is a subject so global it unites all of us. This is why most of our partners and collaborators are women. I believe the time has come for global sisterhood and support.
HIGH QUALITY GARMENTS
MADE TO LAST
We want to create fashion that is not only beautiful on the outside, but behind the scenes as well. Clothes that carry our ethics and have a positive impact on our world.
This also means fighting against the nightmarish rhythm of disposable clothes. We want to offer only high quality, artisan made textiles or upcycled materials to make sure every item you purchase will remain with you for a very long time.
Through our preorder campaigns and by constantly readjusting our strategies, we strive to bring impeccable, durable, haute couture quality at a more affordable price.
