PERFECT FOR IN BETWEEN SEASONS

COTTON & SILK PADDED KIMONOS

Our kimonos are comfortable yet elegant. Slightly padded so they’re warm enough to wear until winter, they are made with our signature huipil cotton & ikat silk blend. As always co-created with our partner artisans in Mexico & Uzbekistan and assembled by hand in France.

Its oversize fit is great for a comfy feel and suits perfectly sizes small to extra large thanks to its removable belt.

🇺🇿 IKAT SILK from uzbekistan

The sleeves on our kimonos are made with ikat silk from Bukhara, Uzbekistan. Vera Rustam, our partner there, has been in the textile industry along with her family for generations.

Still made on traditional looms according to ancestral techniques from the Silk Road, this Ikat shines beautifully, is smooth & soft, and extremely resistant.

legacy from the south

🇲🇽 hand weaved cotton from mexico

The core of Maison Mitla and our collections is the hand weaved cotton from the region of Oaxaca, Mexico.

Originally used to make the huipil, the traditional dress worn in Southern Mexico, this type of woven cotton is rich in colors, motifs, and history.

I am deeply proud and happy to share part of our cultural heritage with the world, especially when it’s made by very talented artisans such as the ladies from the Yoo Ita Collective.

🇫🇷 ASSEMBLED BY HAND IN OUR ATELIER

Our kimonos are assembled by hand in our partner atelier in the 18th district of Paris.

This small atelier has been our partner since the very start and works with several independent French labels but also for great names like the Opera House of Paris for whom they made all the costumes for their latest ballet.

It is one of my main priorities to maintain assembly in Europe, in independent or family owned ateliers. Not only are they the only ones capable of working with handmade textiles that require a particular attention and skill, but also offer total transparency in the process.
